Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Great...when it works

Frustrated 11/3/2021

Installed the cooktop a few months ago with mixed results. We've found that pots/pans need to be in exactly the right spot for it to work, and its really frustrating when we think its in the right place and heating only to find out that the cooktop shut off because it couldn't detect the pot/pan. We've followed all the directions, placed larger pans onto the smaller cooktop to ensure that it fully covers the cooktop circle, and it still works sporadically. We make it work, but my in laws have an older Samsung induction cooktop (different model) that works flawlessly. Not sure why this one has so many issues.

THE WORST!!!!!

NinaTX 9/6/2021

if you like having your cooking stopped any time condensation drips off a pot lid, this is the one for you. it can be a tiny drop, and it shuts down and takes forever to turn back on. you have to reset every burner. hopefully, you aren't cooking something extra sensitive that will be messed up by the temperature changes. now, mine has a d0 code that i can't get rid off. it chimes every few minutes to let me know it's unhappy. it needs more care than most pets. you get this error, chime and phone notification every time you clean it. i've had it a little over a year, and it is frustrating! i bought this cooktop, a wall oven, refrigerator and dishwasher.

Almost perfect

BATPIG 12/7/2020

Three comments... The clean top, i.e. no permanent knobs to get in the way of cleaning, is a great idea. The little magnetic control wheel does not work as well as we'd like. So we have put it away and just use our finger tip. Make the wheel work better, or do away with it. Disappointed in the timer. It's volume is way to low. Also it would be nice to have it shut off a selected burner. Bottom line... I'd buy it again if I had to get a cooktop, but your slide-in induction stove which we had at our last house, is easier to use.

Stunning

CSullivan1 11/24/2020

When I saw my Samsung Stainless Steel 30 Inch Smart Combination Electric Wall Oven with Built in Microwave; Model #NQ70M7770DS being taken off of the truck and going into my home I was Thrilled. To actually have an appliance that is leading in technology, sleek and beautiful in my kitchen feels amazing. The cobalt blue light inside both the microwave and oven is stunning. I smile down to my toes every time I see it. It is nice and shiny with the easy to read LED display. I smile with pride every time I see it. It makes me feel proud of myself for being savvy enough to buy such a handsome appliance that makes me stand out as a great cook (which I'm not without this appliance) and the fact that it is a smart appliance. It is very efficient to be able to use the app on my phone to communicate with my stove! The user manual is very easy to understand to help me operate the oven and microwave quickly. Setting up the connection to the Wi-Fi and Smart Things app was shockingly simple because the display on the microwave walked me through the easy steps. It is a wonderful option to know that I can remotely control the oven. I can easily pre-heat the oven while I am close to home and it will be temperature ready when I arrive. There are many accessories included with the microwave and eliminated me from purchasing more. I used the temperature probe to cook a steak for my son this afternoon and it was cooked perfectly thanks to the stove! Perfectly! This is a word I have used in relation to my cooking ever. My son was thrilled with the taste and I felt as though I stood out as an amazing cook because the steak and vegetables were delicious thanks to my new stove. I highly recommend this combination stove/microwave because it has turned my meals into fond memories.

So fast in boiling!!

Ally 11/12/2020

I was leery of switching to an induction top and researched so many! We chose this one and we are so happy we did! it boils incredibly fast with the power boost, which cuts down cooking time in large pots. Also nervous, because none of my pans were induction friendly, We got a transfer type plate from Amazon, for the size pots I couldn't do w/out and bought the rest high end pans at Marshall's... which saved a ton of money. Cooking is a delight on this stove top!!

Smart Samsung

AngelaAZ 9/3/2020

Our family has had the pleasure of purchasing the Samsung Stainless Steel 30 inch Smart Combination Electric Wall Oven with Built In Microwave (Model # NQ70M7770DS ). This oven/microwave combo unit is of very high quality and provides the latest and greatest technology one can imagine. The availability of connecting to the Wi-Fi and Samsung Smart Things to remotely control the unit are examples of how high tech this unit is. And the display on the microwave was very user friendly when we were setting everything up. Speaking of the display. This unit stands out not only with the vibrant blue interior in the microwave and the oven, but also on the control knobs and the digital display. We were impressed with all the accessories this model came with, accessories that are very useful in the microwave. There are two racks included (one low and one high) and they can be used to heat and/or reheat foods at the same time. A hot plate is also included and comes in handy when reheating a family favorite, pizza! I love to cook and bake and have been so excited to use the oven and to try our family favorites. I have made chicken pot pie and the crust came out flaky and browned just right. My homemade pizza had just the right amount of crispiness to the crust and it was delicious. And more importantly my two boys are also enjoying the process of preparing meals, using the temperature probe which is a brilliant feature to have in the oven so their steak, or chicken comes out perfectly, watch their "creations" cook through the crystal clear oven glass and enjoy a homemade meal together as a family. The oven has a a glider rack that is very useful if you have heavier dishes and came in handy when I was removing the pot pie. There is also a divider that allows you to cook two different dishes at two different temperatures. The User Manual provides the consumer with step by step instructions, aids you in what temperature certain foods need to be cooked, what racks they should be placed on, basically step by step instructions to help you learn how to use this amazing unit. We are a family who believes in high quality products and have been happy with previous purchases of Samsung products. We take pride in saying we are loyal to the Samsung brand and this oven/microwave unit is by far our favorite. We highly recommend this state of the art product. We hope you enjoy your Samsung Model #NQ70M770DS as much as we do

Excellent features and reliability

Gary 8/3/2020

We've had this cooktop for over a year and have been pleased with our choice. We especially like the feature of combining burners for the grill, and the power burst feature for rapid heating. We also like the blue light imitating a gas flame to indicate the burner is on. The only issue issue we have had to get used to is the control panel sensitivity to moisture, which will shut down the burners until is it dry (for example if water splashes onto the panel controls during cooking or prep). Because this is an induction cooktop, the product is relatively expensive, but worth the extra cost in my opinion.

It Gets my Cast Iron Pans so Hot!

lorrigrl1 6/8/2020

I have always had a problem using my Grandmothers cast iron pans on other electric cook tops, boy does this cook top get them Super Hot! The magnetic dial is wonderful to ease my mind that my Mother who has dementia can't attempt to cook and burn down the house. I love the flex space because my griddle pans get heated completely instead of just one spot! Almost seamlessly built into my countertop which makes clean-up Super Quick! Best electric cook top I have ever owned!

Gas without gas

kathyh1 4/7/2020

I have had my Samsung Electric Induction cooktop for just over 2 weeks and I am loving it. It is just a little larger than my old cooktop and has so much more versatile cooking space. I love the flex zone that will allow me to put on my large oblong pot for pasta or use it for two burners. I know the flex zone will also be used for a griddle, but I don't have that yet. The larger circular burner is big enough for my biggest pan and the small one fits my other pans nicely. What I like the most is, I have always wanted a gas cooktop but did not like dealing with gas or the expense to bring it into the kitchen. This induction cooktop operates just like a gas one would. The Power Boost feature make heating water fast, maybe even faster than gas. The response of the burners to changing settings if also fast and these two things are why I thought I wanted gas. I love also the flames that appear on my pans when on the burner. It even looks like gas. I love the sleek, smooth surface that I have found so easy to keep clean. No knobs or raised areas to work around. I love the controls that have kept in mind safety with auto turn off and quick cool down. This cooktop can be operated with my finger or I can opt to use a magnetic knob. The timer right on the cooktop is convenient, as well as some of the other settings like simmer and melt. I selected the stainless steel model but it is mostly black glass with only a small frame of stainless steel. It matches very nicely with the Samsung Combo Oven also black glass and stainless steel. Some people say you have to buy special induction cookware for t his cooktop. But Samsung provided a magnetic card that allows for testing the cookware you have to see if it is compatible. My cookware is perfectly compatible. Picking the feature I like the best is hard because I like several of the features offered. Mostly I would guess is the Power Boost. Using the Power Boost allows speeding up making the whole meal so many times faster. I can boil a big pot of water in 2-3 min, where my old one would take 10 or more. I have big pots and cook for big crowds. Next I love the response of the burner settings from one temp to another. I have burned many meals because my old one would take forever to turn down the temp and I had no place to more it to. Thankfully , not a problem with this cooktop. I go from high frying setting to warn in an instant. This unit has been a beautiful and very efficient upgrade for me.

Excessive power consumption

snakeskinner1 5/9/2019

I recently installed the 30 inch Samsung induction cooktop. After about a month, I noticed that my electric bill went up about 50.00 and also for the next month. I called the electric company and another electrician and they both came to my house to check it out. They put a consumption meter on my electrical panel and went through every circuit to determine which circuit was causing the excess current draw on my system. The final conclusion was the Samsung induction cooktop was using 700 amps of electricity when everything was off. When they turned the breaker off for the cooktop everything went back to normal and when they turned it back on, the 700 amp spike came back. 700 amps per hour multiplied by 24 hr is 16,800 amps per day. 16,800 amps per day multiplied by 30 days is 504,000 amps per month. Each kilowatt-hour is equal to 1000 amps, so my consumption is 504- kilowatt-hours per month just to keep the cooktop powered on without using any of the burners. Each kilowatt-hour cost .09 cents each and multiplied by 504 equals $45.36 per month just to keep power to the cooktop. I called Samsung to get their response and this is what they said: If everything on the stove works as it should, then it is not their problem and I will just have to live with the 45.36 per month or turn the breaker off and only turn it on when we want to use the cooktop. Just wondering, who else has this cooktop?

Looks great, works OK, horrible to operate

LanaP 4/4/2019

The cooktop looks very nice, state of the art and modern. Love the boost function, boils water super quick. But the worst part is to operate it and it's controls. Anytime that a bit water spills for a boiling pot, the cooktop automatically shuts down. You have to wait untill it decides to wake up try to use controls again. The controls is the worst part. if you have a bit wet hand (and all people that are cooking may have slightly wet hang from time to time) then you cannot operate this cooktop, you will not be able to change the burner intensity. In addition, one of the burners humming loud. Sometimes temperature setting on the burner change by itself without even me touching it or removing the pot. I recommend avoiding this cooktop. I really want to love it, but I start hating it.

Please beware, DONT BUY

Arun Prasad 2/7/2019

Within 3 months it stopped working, Samsung took one month (3 attempts to fix it) and finally gave up. I ended up eating outside for a month , spent around $ 1000 in eating outside and paying a electrician to install this, which Samsung will never take care of.

Do not Buy this cooktop

NeverAgainBuyingSamsung 11/21/2018

I bought this $2,000.00 cooktop less than a month ago and have had nothing but problems. The control knob does not work at all, when you turn it the temperature settings do not change. When you use your finger the temperature settings are widely inaccurate as it jumps between 1-15 without any precision. It's pretty much impossible to set it to a specific value as it continually jumps around, it even changes the temperature when no one is touching the controls. The service guy has been out and has been ineffective in finding a resolution, this is clearly a design issue with this cooktop. We have received multiple error codes in the middle of cooking when the cooktop shuts down, some of which the service guy admitted he hadn't ever seen. We usually have to flip the breaker to get the cooktop working again. Beware of their 15-day return window, if you call on day 16 (like I did) you are pretty much out of luck. Their website is misleading about a 30-day window but it's actually 15. Samsung customer service is the absolute worst, I have spent countless hours with them to no avail. Google Samsung customer service and you'll see what I am talking about.

Do not purchase

JJJMILL 9/17/2018

I bought this cooktop 10 months ago. Do not buy this cooktop. I constantly get error messages. Pressing the power button is suppose to clear message but that doesn't work. The main circuit breaker has to be turned off to clear message. Very frustrating when in the middle of cooking. It is also very difficult to control temperature. The nob or touch control gives same problem. Also Samsung service is terrible. You have to wait two days from the time you call Samsung till authorized service repair calls you back and then you have to wait several days before they can come. They also will not guarantee morning or afternoon appts so you have to waste an entire day waiting for service person.

Love Induction Cooking-But beware of touch controls

EngineerTim 4/23/2018

I had a Samsung Induction Stove in my prior home. I loved it so much, I decided to replace my existing Stovetop with this Samsung Model. Control of temperatures are exceptional and pans come up to temperature very quickly. Having no knobs to clean was a requirement in my replacement unit. The magnetic knob on this model works well and is easily removed to clean spatters from cooking. The touch controls work quite well. HOWEVER, in my old model with physical controls, I was able to lay down a thin silicone baking mat on the stove between the unit and my pan while cooking. The stove still functioned correctly and the mat collected the spatters and was more easily cleaned than the glass top. What I didn't realize was that with the touch controls (or perhaps its the automatic spill detection), placing a silicone mat anywhere on the stovetop, causes control of the burner temperature to go random, whether using the magnetic knob or the touch control. The setting would randomly change from say 1 to 7 to 4 to 15 while turning the knob in the same direction. This was true even if the control area was NOT covered by the mat I still love the stovetop, but my expectations were to be able to use the silicone mat for easy clean up. Perhaps this could be corrected in future models? If so, I'd be interested.
